A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Dr Kingsley Akaba, has hailed the appointment of Hon. Harvest Igben as Commisssioner on the Federal Public Complaints Commission (PCC).
Akaba in a statement by his Press Secretary, Comrade Princeton Muogho, described Igben’s appointment as a welcomed development as his choice is a square peg in a square hole.
He noted that with the vast knowledge of Igben, who is an Udu born politician and a two-time member of the Delta State House of Assembly, the Public Complaints Commission would be better positioned to meet the needs of Nigerians.
According to the University Don, the down to earth nature of Hon Igben and his keen attention to details coupled with his long standing records of ensuring fairness and equity to all and sundry makes his appointment a round peg in a round hole.
He thanked President Mohammadu Buhari for finding Hon Igben worthy of the the appointment.
Dr Akaba also lauded the Deputy Senate President, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, for always attracting Federal appointments and infrastructural development to his people.
The National Assembly (NASS), had on Wednesday, approved the appointment of Mr Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf from Lagos State as the Chief Commissioner for the Public Complaint Commission (PCC).
This was contained in a letter by the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, conveying the appointments to the Clerk of the National Assembly (CNA), Arc. Ojo Olatunde.
The NASS leadership also approved the appointments of 37 others as commissioners of the PCC.
The names of the appointed federal Commissioners for States are Madukwe E. E. Ukaegbu – Abia; Abubakar Bobboyi Jijiwa – Adamawa; Uwah Ubong Emmanuel – Akwa Ibom; Mrs Emelda Okoli -Anambra; Ahmad Dauda Jika -Bauchi; Chief Wangagha Dige Dise – Bayelsa; John-Jack Iyorlian Gumh – Benue; Yusuf Adamu -Borno; Mr Obi Steve Owan -Cross River; Igben Harvest -Delta; Chukwu Donald Ogbonna -Ebonyi; Peter Jonathan Ethasor Anegbeh -Edo; Olukayode Ademola Bamisile -Ekiti, and Omeye Nick Onyebuchi- Enugu.
Others are Tanimu Usman Deba -Gombe; Micheal Uzodinma Ifeanyi – Imo; Jinjiri A.
