Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun John Obukohwo Nani, has congratulated former Governor of Delta State and Senator representing Delta North, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on the occasion of his 67th birthday, describing him as a statesman whose years of public service have left a lasting imprint on the growth and development of Delta State.
In a goodwill message on Wednesday, Nani said the former governor’s journey in public service reflects dedication, experience and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people, noting that his contributions continue to resonate across the state.
The DESOPADEC Chairman observed that Okowa distinguished himself in every office he occupied, rising through the ranks from local government administration to becoming a two-term governor of Delta State after serving as Commissioner, Secretary to the State Government and Senator of the Federal Republic.
According to him, the former governor’s calm disposition, inclusive leadership style and commitment to strengthening institutions have earned him enduring respect across political and social divides.
Nani said Okowa’s years in office witnessed policies and initiatives that expanded opportunities for many Deltans, adding that his experience remains a valuable asset to the continued development of the state.
He urged younger political leaders to draw inspiration from the former governor’s consistency, resilience and dedication to public service.
