A pro-Niger Delta advocacy group, Niger Delta Oil Communities Agenda (NIDOCA), has congratulated the Managing Director, Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) and Country Chair, Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN), Mr Osagie Okunbor, as the sole recipient of Dr Alirio Parra Lifetime Achievement Award in Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry for 2022.

The group, in a statement on Monday, in Warri, Delta State, and signed by Pastor Emma Akpovoka, Director of Publicity, said: “Mr Osagie Okunbor deserved the Lifetime Achievement Award considering his outstanding and notable contributions to the development of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry over the years.

“It is good to always recognize and honour persons who have shown selflessness in service, patriotism and commitment to human and societal development, and that is where Mr Osagie Okunbor is outstanding. Such recognition and honour would spur the recipients to do more for the society.”

The group also commended the organizers of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (NOG ’22), for the Lifetime Achievement Award conferred on Okunbor, noting that as stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, they would continue to canvass for a peaceful and friendly environment for the growth of the oil and gas industry.

Okunbor was honoured with the Dr Alirio Parra Lifetime Achievement Award at the 21st edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (NOG ’22) held last Thursday in Abuja.
