The National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Daniel Bwala has resigned his membership in the party.

Bwala disclosed his resignation from the APC a few hours after the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu unveiled former governor of Borno State, Kashim Ibrahim Shettima as his running mate on Sunday just after the initial nominee, Ibrahim Masari announced his withdrawal from the position.

Bwala apparently hinged his resignation from the party on Tinubu and Shettima being from the same Muslim religion which he said was against the principles and convictions he firmly stands for.

In multiple tweets before midnight on Sunday via his Twitter handle @BwalaDaniel he wrote below:

“Asiwaju has announced Kashim Shetima as his running mate. Kwankwaso is planning to announce a Pentecostal Bishop as his running mate. Interesting times lie ahead.
