Argentina forward, Lionel Messi has finally joined French giant, Paris Saint-Germain F.C on a 2-year contract.

Messi joined the Ligue 1 side as a free agent, the French club confirmed on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old forward however has an option of extending the contract for one more year.

Messi will reportedly make about €40m per year at his new club.

Meanwhile, an image of Lionel Messi has been removed from a mural at the Barcelona’s stadium after he signed for Paris Saint-Germain.

On Tuesday, the club’s workers were seen removing Messi from a mural depicting him alongside Gerard Pique and Antoine Griezman.

The Argentine legend spent 21 years at Barcelona, scoring 672 goals and providing 268 assists for the first team.

He had on Thursday last week parted ways with the Nou camp after talks on extending his contract failed over what was described as financial and structural obstacles.
