MAY 29: UPU congratulates Delta State Governor-Elect; says future is bright with M.O.R.E Agenda

The Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, has expressed confidence in the ability of Delta State Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori to continue to work tirelessly to bring about positive changes in the state.

The apex socio-cultural organisation of the Urhobo nation stated this in a congratulatory message to Rt Hon Oborevwori and his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, on their resounding victory at the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial election and their official inauguration on Monday, May 29, 2023.

The statement signed by the President General of UPU Worldwide, Chief Ese Gam noted the dedication and commitment of Rt Hon Oborevwori to serving the people of Delta State as evident in his six years reign as Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly adding that his victory is not just a personal achievement, but a victory for the entire Urhobo people.

The UPU which described the Delta State Governor-Elect as an illustrious son of the Urhobo people said the Urhobo people and indeed Deltans are proud of his achievements and look forward to a greater Delta State with his M.O.R.E Agenda.

The Union also congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for successfully piloting the affairs of the state in the last eight years and for laying a solid foundation for the incoming governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.

The UPU prayed God Almighty to guide and protect Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as he leads Delta State towards a brighter future.
