His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe 1, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State has charged his subjects to make the kingdom a special place of excellence.

The charge was contained in an address by the monarch at the grand reception held for him by chiefs and people of Uvwie Kingdom shortly after his return from his three months annual vacation cum medical check-up in the United Kingdom (UK) on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

To this end, the traditional ruler said that the best way to make Uvwie Kingdom a special place of excellence was through education.

He charged Uvwie indigenes to make education their foremost priority while ensuring peace and unity.

“We are one people. So we should always speak with one voice and shun issues that could cause disunity among us,” Abe 1 added.

The highly esteemed traditional ruler vowed to put in his best in his service to the Uvwie people adding that in his rulership of Uvwie Kingdom, he will be guided by directives from God.

He however strongly advised that the good tradition and customs should be sustained and that those that are not good should be discarded.

The Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom had earlier thanked the chiefs and people of Uvwie Kingdom for the red carpet reception accorded him.

“It is an indication of your love for me,” he remarked.

He also appreciated the acting Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom, High Chief Hope Akasa for holding forth for him without crises while he was in the UK.

Abe 1 lauded non-indigenes for their peaceful behaviour as he particularly commended the Arewa Leader Alhaji Suleiman Jauro for always identifying with the palace and Uvwie people.

The high point of the epoch-making event was the presentation of some indigenous foodstuffs and drinks by the traditional administrative unit of Oriokpor in Uvwie Kingdom.

The presentation was made by the Unuevworo (the traditional mouthpiece) of Oriokpor traditional administrative unit highly esteemed Bar ( High Chief) Victor E Otomiewo.

The President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union ( UGIU), Chief Abovi Hope Erute, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the event noted that the warm reception accorded to the highly esteemed traditional ruler was an indication of the love Uvwie chiefs and the people have for their royal father.

“We are happy that he is our traditional ruler. It is our prayer that he should live long on the throne.

“We need peace, unity and his cordial relationship. These are what he has been demonstrated since he ascended the throne” he added.

The ancient traditional Ighovwan Dance Band entertained the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom and the audience.
