Sons and daughters of Igbodo community in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, resident in the United States of America, USA, have applauded the elevation of one of their own, Mr Uzoma Henry Azikiwe, to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.
The people under the aegis of “Igbodo Development Union (IDU), North America”, described the new silk, Mr Uzoma Azikiwe as a worthy ambassador of the kingdom who had carved a niche for himself in Courtroom advocacy in Nigeria and beyond.
A statement endorsed by the National President of the Association, with Six Chapters Presidents of the development union and a patron of the USA based body, stated that the people were overwhelmed with joy that a son of Igbodo community has risen to the highest rank in the nation’s legal profession.
The officials include, Dr Charles Ego, for IDU National, Dr Victor Ubani; President, Atlanta Chapter, Engr. Emmanuel Uzuyem, President New Jersey Chapter, Pastor Alex Iwekuba, President, North Carolina Chapter, Mr Ben Okoh; President, Richmond Chapter, Pastor Mathew Ojeh, President, IDU Dallas Chapter, and Mr Stanley Ubani, President, Houston Chapter as well as a patron of the association, Chief (Dr) Sunny Uzuh, Isichitumugo of Igbodo kingdom.
The statement said, “Mr Uzoma Azikiwe, SAN, had contributed immensely to the strengthening of Nigeria’s judicial system through efficient and outstanding prosecution and defence of cases at the bench. It was a thing of joy to celebrate with him on his promotion to the pinnacle of legal practice. We are happy and so glad reading through testimonies of his friends and colleagues who described him as a lawyer with exceptional intelligence. He has indeed carved a niche for himself in his chosen career”.
Adding that his present status had placed him on a higher pedestal for greater service to his immediate community, the Ika Nation, Delta State, the Country and humanity in general, the IDU North America, thanked Mr. Azikiwe for the honour his elevation had brought to Igbodo kingdom.
The people urged the learned silk to use his new position to mentor the younger generation of lawyers in order to bequeath to them enduring virtues that would further enhance the justice system and justice delivery in Nigeria.
The union assured Mr Azikiwe, that the community will continue to hold him in high esteem as well as all other sons and daughters of Igbodo that are doing well in their various human endeavours.
Mr Uzoma Azikiwe is one of the seven persons from Delta State, among the 72 newly sworn – in Senior Advocates of Nigeria, following their recommendations and approvals by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, LPPC.
