Senator Ned Munir Nwoko’s bill on the African Descendants Citizens Application has passed first reading in the Senate during Wednesday’s plenary.

The bill aims to provide a legal framework for granting Nigerian citizenship to persons of African descent, particularly those in the diaspora seeking to reconnect with their roots.

The proposed legislation passed first reading during plenary, with lawmakers expected to deliberate further in subsequent stages.
