Senator Ede Dafinone has denounced the killing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area, Mr Ese Idisi, describing the incident as shocking, tragic, and an attack on peace in Delta State.
In a statement issued on 17 November 2025, the Delta Central lawmaker said the murder was a grievous loss to Mr Idisi’s family, the APC, and the wider community.
He praised the late party chieftain as a loyal and committed figure whose dedication to democratic ideals was unquestionable.
Dafinone called for an immediate and thorough investigation by the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security bodies, insisting that those responsible must be located and prosecuted without compromise. He emphasised that justice must be pursued transparently and with urgency.
He urged APC members and residents of Ethiope East to remain calm and avoid reprisals, warning that any form of retaliation would worsen tensions and obstruct the pursuit of justice.
According to him, the police and security agencies must be allowed the space and support needed to conduct a credible investigation.
The senator also appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders, and youths to work closely with law enforcement by providing information that could help identify the perpetrators.
He noted that community cooperation remains essential to strengthening security and preventing further violence.
Dafinone extended condolences to the family of the deceased, the APC in Delta State, and the people of Ethiope East, describing the death of Mr Idisi as a monumental loss.
He prayed for the repose of Mr Idisi’s soul and reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that justice is achieved.
