A tanker carrying petroleum product exploded at Ughelli-Agbarho road by Agbarho bridge near Warri in Delta State on Friday morning.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that the driver of the tanker lost control at the Agbarho bridge following a hot chase by suspected members of the Delta State petroleum task force for allegedly conveying a diverted product.
The incident has caused heavy traffic gridlock along the Ughelli/Agbarho road.
Motorists and other road users are advised to take alternative routes while security agents, firefighters and other emergency response teams should mobilise to the scene to bring the situation under control.
