Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will now commence on Monday, February 3, as against the previously announced date of Friday, January 31.

JAMB Public Communications Advisor Fabian Benjamin disclosed in a statement released on Friday.

Benjamin explained that the rescheduling was necessary to allow the Board to implement crucial adjustments to its registration system. These changes stem from the recent suspension of certain law programs at select universities, as communicated to JAMB by the Council for Legal Education.

The board also identified discrepancies involving some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, which had used fraudulent methods to gain approval. As a result, these centres will undergo further scrutiny and disapproval.

“These adjustments came in light of the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as submitted to the Board by the Council for Legal Education.

“Additionally, the Board discovered that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had used deceptive facilities to be approved, prompting the need for further scrutiny and corrections by disapproving such centres.

“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience,” the statement read.

The extra time, Benjamin said, will allow for the completion of all necessary modifications to ensure a seamless registration process.
