Opponents of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in the March 2023 governorship election in Delta State have again been admonished to embrace the outcome of the election and support the Governor’s MORE agenda for the overall interest of Deltans.

Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Service, IRS, Hon (Chief) Solomon Ighrakpata gave the advice while reacting to Thursday’s Supreme Court judgement that dismisses Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi’s appeal against Governor Oborevwori.

Hon Ighrakpata pointed out that in any contest, a winner must emerge, stressing that the 2023 gubernatorial election in Delta State was contested and won by Oborevrwori, the victory he said was well deserved.

According to Ighrakpata who represented Uvwie Constituency in the last political dispensation, the votes for the PDP candidate in the election, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori was overwhelming, leading to the far distance gap he gave candidates of other political parties in the electoral contest.

The former lawmaker urged the three major opponents in the election; Ovie Omo-Agege, Kenneth Gbagi and Ken Pela to sheath their swords and embrace their brother whom God has lifted at this point in the state’s history to govern the people.

Emphasizing that the trio of Omo-Agege, Gbagi and Pela are major stakeholders in Urhobo nation, Ighrakpata said their support for the Governor would further promote and strengthen the vision for a greater united people.

“The Supreme Court dismissal of an appeal brought before it by Chief Kenneth Gbagi against Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, again speaks volumes on the massive support by Deltans to the Governor through their votes on the Election Day.

“Like the court ruled, the litigation was a waste of time, mere academic exercise, and lacking in value. I have said it before and I want to use this opportunity to appeal once again to those in court against the man who has been chosen by God and Deltans to lead the state this time around to embrace peace.

“Good enough, the litigants are all true sons of Urhobo nation. Brothers can not continue to fight. There must be a time to retreat and embrace peace. The time has come. The time is now,” Ighrakpata stated.

The former lawmaker who represented Uvwie in the last political dispensation commended Deltans for their support to the state government’s ‘Advancing Delta Project’.
