Senator James Manager representing Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly appears now to be the ‘beautiful bride’ in the political landscape of Delta State as the race for who succeeds Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as governor of the state continues to gather more momentum.

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, the Delta governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori visited the pioneer State PDP Chairman Senator James Manager at his Warri residence.

Giving insight into Oborevwori’s visit, the Assistant Deputy Director, Media and Publicity of PDP Delta Campaign Council, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe in a release widely circulated on different Whatsapp groups wrote, “The incoming governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori shared some jokes with  Distinguished Senator Manager at his residence on Saturday 14th January, 2023.

“Oborevwori’s visit to James Manager was unique as the duo held each other hand-in-hand smiling as they took flashes from the powerful lenses of the official photographer to the incoming governor, Mr Zion.”

Saturday’s fraternization between Oborevwori and Manager NewsNet Nigeria gathered had sent shock waves in the camp of the PDP chieftains and their followers who are yet to put aside the animosity that resulted from the outcome of the governorship primary to align with the party to sustain their hold to the exalted number one seat in the state.

However, in what appears to be a swift move according to some political pundits ostensibly to prevent Senator Manager from yielding to any bargain offered to him during Oborevwori’s Saturday visit, former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, on Sunday paid an unscheduled visit to Manager also at his Warri residence.

Although details are still sketchy on Ibori’s visit to Manager, from the photos of the visit shared by Hon Japhet Bodonyefa on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon both of them were in an exciting mood that reflects an unbroken bond between them.

Recall that Senator Manager has been a very strong ally of Chief Ibori since 1999 when PDP took over the realms of power in the state.
