The Delta State government on Wednesday night took delivery of the Covid-19 vaccines for the state.
The aircraft which conveyed the vaccines to the state arrived at the Asaba International Airport Asaba at past 7pm.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr Ononye Mordi and his team received the Covid-19 consignments comprising vaccines, syringes and data tools on behalf of the State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
They were immediately deployed to the state Cold Chain for preservation and storage.
On the entourage of Dr Mordi at the airport to receive the Covid-19 consignments were the Chairman, DSPHCDA, Dr Isioma Okobah, the Executive Director, Dr Winful-Orieke Jude, Director of Community Health Services, Dr Yinkore Paul, Director of Social Mobilization and Advocacy, Mrs Ijeoma Popo, State Immunization Officer, Dr Grace Ngozi Orofuke, State Cold Chain Officer, Mr Ewere Adaikpoh, State Coordinator WHO, Dr Onyinye Emefiele, State Coordinator NPHCDA, Dr Ofonakara Uzo and representatives of UNICEF and WHO.
