Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria and Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has extended his warmest congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State Chapter, on the successful conduct of the state congress and their emergence as members of the State Working Committee of the party.
Rt Hon Guwor, in the congratulatory message to the party Exco, expressed confidence that the Chief Solomon Arenyeka-led state executive will further strengthen and consolidate the success story of the party in Delta State.
The Speaker, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Nkem Nwaeke, noted that their affirmation at the well-attended congress held at the Cenotaph, Asaba, was a clear testament to the confidence and trust reposed in them by party faithfuls across the state.
“Leadership comes with both honour and responsibility, and I am confident that the new executive will justify this mandate by promoting unity, strengthening internal democracy, and advancing the collective aspirations of our party faithful across Delta State,” Guwor said.
Guwor emphasised that, as Speaker of the State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, he recognised the vital role a vibrant and well-organised political party plays in deepening the nation’s democracy.
The Speaker pointed out that constructive engagement, healthy competition of ideas, and people-centred policies remain essential ingredients for sustainable development and good governance.
“I therefore encourage the new leadership to prioritise inclusiveness, reconciliation, and collaboration, ensuring that all stakeholders are carried along in the journey ahead. The progress of Delta State must remain our shared commitment, beyond political affiliations,” he said.
“Once again, I congratulate the new leadership of our great party on their emergence and wish them a successful and impactful tenure in service to our party and our dear state,” the Speaker added.
