Former NFF President, Dominic Oneya, dies at 73

Former Military Administrator of Kano State, Retired Brigadier General Dominic Oneya, is dead.

NewsNet learnt that the late Oneya, who was former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) from 1999 to 2002, died on Thursday morning in his home at GRA in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

He was born on May 26, 1948, and hailed from Agbarho Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Late Oneya was military administrator of Kano State from August 1996 to August 1998, during the military regime of late General Sani Abacha.

From August 1998 to May 1999 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, he served as Military Administrator of Benue State.

Headed the Ministerial Committee on Reforms in Nigerian Football, member CAF committees amongst others.
