Former member of the House of Representatives for Ethiope Federal Constituency in Delta State, Hon Solomon Edoja, says one of the reasons for his return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is to help rejig the party for the better.

Recall that NewsNet Nigeria had on Saturday, October 9, 2021, exclusively reported that Edoja and former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Monday Igbuya are among staunch members of the party in the state, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) that will return to the party at a rally of the Delta Central PDP expected to hold on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Sapele Township Stadium in Sapele Local Government Area.

Edoja, a former commissioner in Delta State and an aspirant under the banner of the PDP in the 2013 Delta Central Senatorial by-election, on Sunday, while confirming to NewsNet Nigeria his decision to stage a come back to the PDP which according to him is his original fold said, “APC is a party of scam. The people we went to welcome into APC hijacked and took over the APC.

“Today, APC in Delta is not All Progressives again, it is Agege Political Congress. The whole state knows he is the only one remaining. All other leaders are just begging him for crumbs.

“If the party(APC) all the hopes of Nigerians is built on is failing us then we have to return to rejig the PDP and make it functional.

“It was because of those kinds of shortcomings that made us leave the PDP for the APC where we were thoroughly scammed.”

The one-time Caretaker Chairman of PDP for one year in Kwara State said he has the majority of his people from the unit, ward and local government area to come back to the PDP.

“So, I decided to talk to my people, let us go back to the drawing board and make PDP better so that together we can rebuild the party.

“We know the mistakes, it is better than this one(APC) we are in we don’t know where we are heading,” said Edoja.
