Two-time Commissioner and frontline 2023 governorship aspirant in Delta State, Olorogun Fred Majemite has expressed shock over the demise of Olorogun Kenneth Okpara.

Okpara until his death on Friday, November 19, 2023, was a renowned economist and former Economic Planning and Finance Commissioner in Delta State under the administration of ex-Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Majemite in a statement on Friday recalled his fruitful discussion with Kenneth Okpara when they appeared alongside other governorship aspirants from Delta Central before Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari led DC-23 governorship screening committee two weeks ago in Sapele.

He described Olorogun Kenneth Okpara as a friend and an illustrious Urhobo son.

Majemite also noted Okpara’s intellectual prowess in economic matters and his dedication to the Urhobo course which are worthy of emulation.

While mourning the demise of Kenneth Okpara, Majemite equally expressed his condolences to the entire Agbon Kingdom of Ethiope East Local Government Area over the death of their illustrious son.

Meanwhile, Majemite, an Ekuigbo born politician in Ughelli North Local Government Area has called on his campaign organisation to suspend all activities indefinitely to honour Kenneth Okpara.

According to him “As respect to late Chief Kenneth Okpara, my friend and one of Urhobo’s foremost Accountants/Technocrats in his time, l have directed the Director General of my campaign organization to suspend all the activities lined up by my office at the State and Local Government levels indefinitely.

“It is my prayer that on the resurrection day, we shall meet again and reign with Christ, our Lord, our saviour, the centre of our faith’. My his soul rest in peace,” Majemite stated.
