A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief (Engr.) Eric Egere, has described Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a man passionate about the development and progress of the state.
Chief Egere, a pioneer leader of the APC in Uvwie Local Government Area, made the remark on Saturday, October 11, 2025, during a strategic meeting he convened and hosted at his residence in Effurun.
The meeting was attended by APC executives from the local government and the ten wards.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Egere said the meeting was aimed at further consolidating the merger of the old APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structures in the state, and to mobilise grassroots support for the re-election of Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
“I am hosting this meeting because of the love I have for Uvwie. It is to further solidify the merger which took place about eight months ago while I was out of the country, and to sensitise our people on the need to support the governor, who is our own.
“Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, is a lover of development and a man committed to delivering quality governance to Deltans. In just two years in office, we have witnessed massive infrastructural and human capital development. This is just the beginning of success,” Chief Egere stated.

In his remarks, the APC State Party Leader, Hon. Mudiaga Okerefe, said Uvwie has never experienced such visible development in its history.
“The truth is, anybody in Uvwie who does not want to support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is an enemy of progress. Any son or daughter of Uvwie, resident or non-indigene, who sees the governor’s good works and still chooses another candidate in 2027 is an enemy of progress.
“I can assure you that with Governor Oborevwori’s return in 2027, Uvwie will witness even greater development,” Okerefe said.
Also speaking, Uvwie APC Chairman, Comrade Wilfred Ileleji, commended Chief Egere for his leadership and for hosting the meeting to unite party stakeholders.
He also praised him for pioneering the APC in Uvwie and for providing and furnishing the party’s secretariat, urging members to close ranks and work collectively for the success of Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu in 2027.
Other speakers, including Engr. Matthew Tsekiri, Elder Efe Okonedo, Chief Godfrey Okoloba, Christian Eshenake, Comrade Freeborn Onokpuvie, Comrade Joseph Egere, and Mama Mary Unuagba (popularly known as Mama Politics), hailed the meeting as a timely step towards strengthening grassroots mobilisation, party cohesion, and strategic engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Goodwill messages were also delivered by Delta State APC Youth Leader, Napoleon Kenerekedi; Chief Thomas Emami of Warri South-West; and Olorogun Reginald Asiuwhu of Patani LGA. They lauded the initiative and pledged to replicate similar meetings in their respective areas.
The meeting concluded with a resolution, read by Chief Benjamin Eshenake, urging all attendees to commit themselves fully to the re-election campaigns of both Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu in 2027.
