The Director-General of the Warri/Uvwie & Environs Development Agency, WUEDA in Delta State, Comrade Ovuzuorie Macaulay Thursday(today) expressed satisfaction with the level of works done by contractors handling projects for the control of flood in the area.

The former Secretary to the Delta State Government, SSG spoke shortly with newsmen after inspecting projects being handled by Levant Construction Limited and CCEC in Warri and Uvwie.

The projects are at Phase II of the flood control measures put in place in Warri/Effurun & Environs and by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration.

Comrade Macaulay said, “Am very satisfied with what am seeing both from the CCEC end and Levant End.

“You can see that they’re maintaining the integrity of the job. The job is of high quality. Even the areas that are complicated, they’re able to do their best to make sure that we come out with something good. So far, I will say they’re trying.”

While noting that the Delta State Government and the contractors lost a lot of time the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in the year 2020, Comrade Macaulay said, “Even at that, what we have achieved within this period of time that we’ve come back to work is commendable and am sure we will try as much as possible to meet the target.”

He expressed the belief that the contractors will work faster once the State Government takes care of all utilities and compensations.

Levant Construction Limited Site Engineer, Bassen El Sayed in a chat with newsmen said his company is working seriously finish the underground drainage construction works and others within the two weeks ultimatum handed down to them by the State Government.

Our Correspondent reports that the WUEDA DG and his team inspected projects at Igbudu Model Primary School, Esisi road, Mabiaku road, Commissioner road, Uti road and Ugbolokposo Community in Warri South and Uvwie Local Government Areas of Delta State.
