The lady who was allegedly arrested during the ENDSARS protest and later gave birth to a baby in prison, Kemisola Ogunniyi, is yet to be granted bail.
NewsNet gathered that the naming of Kemisola’s baby comes up on Wednesday.
She came under the spotlight recently after the Nigerian media focused attention on her plight, having been in prison since last year.
She was two-month pregnant when she was remanded in prison custody alongside three others for allegedly burning some buildings during the ENDSARS protest.
An Akure High Court on Monday denied the bail application of her counsel, Tope Tomekun, who sought her release from prison due to her condition.
Justice Omolara Adejumo said she was unaware of the application.
Tomekun however said the bail application would be taken on Tuesday.
“That is not to say that we should allow the naming ceremony to take place in prison. And we are fighting against that seriously.
“We were fighting that Kemisola should not deliver in prison but she eventually delivered in prison. So, if we say we don’t want the naming ceremony in the prison custody, it is still part of the agitation to get her released.”
