Teachers of Technical High School, THS, Primary Schools One and Three, DSC Steel Township in Udu Local Government Area of Delta Stae on Monday staged a peaceful protest over the poor working conditions in the school.

The schools are currently under the management of Premium and Minds Steel Limited, PMSL.

NewsNet Nigeria gathered the teachers had since Friday, February 4, 2022, dropped their teaching materials due to the failure of the management to increase their salaries in the last seven years and no promotion in the last fifteen years.

The teachers said the protest became necessary to draw the attention of parents of the schools, the Federal and Delta State Governments to the plight of both the teachers and students.

Some teachers who spoke during the protest said there is a high level of injustice in the school system as the salaries of old teachers are lower than that of their new colleagues who have the same qualification.

A student of the school appealed to the Management of Premium and Mines Steel Limited to increase the salaries of their teachers and meet their other needs.

Reacting to the protest, the Managing Director, Premium Steel and Mines Limited, Mr Ujjiwal Sinha said the management would soon resolve the issues raised by the teachers.
