Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has called on the Urhobo people, Deltans and Nigerians at large to use the Christmas season as a period of sober reflection, reconciliation and renewed commitment to unity.
In his Christmas 2025 message, the Senator described Christmas not merely as a time for celebration, but as a season for deep reflection on God’s blessings, collective progress and the challenges faced during the year.
Senator Dafinone urged the people to look back with gratitude on the gains recorded in 2025, particularly within the Urhobo Nation and Delta State, while also acknowledging the difficulties encountered as a people and as a country.
He emphasised that the true essence of Christmas lies in love, pointing to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the ultimate expression of God’s love for humanity.
According to him, this message should inspire compassion, kindness and mutual support among individuals and communities.
The lawmaker specifically called on the people of Delta Central and the entire Urhobo Nation to be their “brother’s keeper,” encouraging them to support one another, show understanding and strengthen communal bonds.
He further appealed for reconciliation at all levels, urging families, friends and political associates to forgive past grievances, heal old wounds and move forward together with renewed hope and unity of purpose.
Senator Dafinone noted that such reconciliation is crucial as the people prepare for the future, including the political journey ahead of 2027.
He wished the people of Delta Central and the Urhobo Nation a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, reaffirming his commitment to continue serving them in the Senate.
