Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro has called on youths in the state to take advantage of the elaborate youth programmes and policies of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration.

Deacon Otuaro made the call in Warri while addressing over five hundred youths on the need to discover purpose, prepare and explore opportunities in order to thrive in a competitive environment.

Speaking on Entrepreneurship and Inclusive Youth Participation in Governance and Politics, at the 2021 Aspire Global Conference tagged ‘Upgrade X’, Deacon Otuaro noted that youths are the live wire of the economy of any nation.

The Deputy Governor also noted that Delta State is blessed with talented youths that can excel in any sphere of life with little support.

He explained that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in his wisdom has put together various programmes and policies that will help youths in the state develop their talents.

Deacon Otuaro listed some of the programmes to include the STEP, YAGEP, GEST, and RYSA schemes of the Delta State Government which have transformed the lives of hundreds of youths in the state by raising them from job seekers to employers of labour and by extension addressing the high rate of unemployment in the state.

He encouraged youths to key into the Delta State government’s job creation schemes of the Okowa administration noting that the high rate of poverty and crime can be traced to idleness.

The Deputy Governor, therefore, charged the participants at the conference to discover their God-given potentials as it will yield benefit once opportunities start coming.

The event featured a questions and answers session.
