Angry customers attack UBA in Warri

The main market branch of the United Bank of Africa, UBA, in Warri, Delta State has been attacked by angry customers.

NewsNet Nigeria gathered that women traders in the main market also joined the bank customers in brokering into the bank and drove the workers away.

While the customers besieged the bank to collect money, particularly the new Naira notes, the market women stormed the bank to tell the staff to release money so that people could patronise them.

It was learnt that tension heightened when they were prevented from accessing the bank.

It took the swift intervention of men of the Nigerian Navy, whose barrack was just a few metres away from the bank to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
