Seventeen of the eighteen nominees whose names were forwarded to the Delta State House of Assembly for appointments as Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa have been confirmed.

The confirmation followed the successful screening of the nominees during Tuesday’s plenary of the House, presided over by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sherrif Oborevwori.

Leading the pack in the screening exercise which commenced by a motion to that effect by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Kenneth Preyor, were Hon Evelyn Oboro and Princess Shola Ogbemi-Daibo, both former members of the House Of Representatives and Delta State House of Assembly respectively.

The motion for the confirmation of the appointments of the Commissioners nominees, now Commissioner designates, was moved by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon Oboro Preyor, seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Ochor Christopher Ochor and adopted.

Meantime, the Delta State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointment of nine Secretary to Local Government, SLGs, in addition to the earlier eighteen screened and confirmed by the House.

Those who got their appointments approved by the House, include, Labo Fun-Akpo, Bomadi, Felix Edemenya, Ndokwa East, Paul Owie-Oduru, Patani, Chukwuemeke Iyeh, Oshimili South, Harry Chukunedu, Ukwuani, Mrs Omare Gabari, Warri SouthWest, Felix Oderhohwo, Ughelli North, Igbuduma David Ejoor and Mr Samuel Khalil, Warri North.
