Although the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has said that Local Government elections in the state will not hold in January, 2021, some chairmanship and councillorship aspirants under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have re-strategize and reorganized their consultations to enable them to continue to reach out to party members especially those who would become delegates for the party’s primaries.
If the position of the governor regarding giving a level playing field for all aspirants is anything to go by, then the support and votes of the party delegates would determine the emergence of the party’s candidates for the local government election, whenever it is scheduled by the state electoral umpire, known as the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC.
One of the chairmanship aspirants from Ethiope East Local Government Area, Rt Hon (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta, has continued to endear himself to the people with his exemplary lifestyle.
Ofobrukueta is renowned for being a grassroots politician and one with the passion for the development of his people of Ethiope East Council Area.
His is being tipped by many to flag the PDP flag for the chairmanship position for the local government considering his antecedents, pedigree and wealth of experience in party politics and commitment to good governance.

Rt Hon (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta was born in Okurekpo to the family of late Chief & Mrs Samuel Ofobrukueta Akpomudjere of lsaba family in Okpara, Agbon clan and Abor family of Oria-Abraka both of Delta State in the early 70s.
Education/Institution Attended
He had his PSLC from Okurekpo Pry Sch, Okurekpo and SSCE Certificate from Edo Boys High School, Benin City, Edo State in 1989 and 1994 respectively.
He later proceeded to
Nigerian College of Administration, ljaniki, Lagos State where he obtained Dip in Admin in 1997.
As a devoted Christian and lover of Christ, he enrolled into Glim Bible College Benin City, Edo State in 1998 and graduated in 1999 with Dip in Theo.
In his quest for modern and quality education, he gained admission into the prestigious University of Benin in 2000 and graduated in 2005 with B. Pharm.
In furtherance of his educational career, he proceeded to the University of Lagos and the West Africa Post Graduate College of Pharmacist, where he will obtain Msc and FCPharm (degree in view) respectively.

Career And Professionalism
He started his career as a Medical sales representative with Phillips Pharmaceuticals Nigeria limited. He also worked with Seagreen Pharmaceuticals as Senior Medical representative.
Having garnered enough working experience, he established his own firm known as the “Veta” Pharmaceuticals in 2012 as the Chief Executive Officer.
Meanwhile, he is the Chairman, Board of Directors, and Pharmacists Director, Frimarg Nig Ltd and, Medtech Pharmaceutical Nigeria Ltd respectively and other firms too numerous to mention.
Rt Hon (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta is a Guest Lecturer at College of Health Technology, Ofuoma -Ughelli, since 2010 till date.
Characterised with charismatic demeanour, he was persuaded to join politics in 2000.
Due to the predominant role he played in Ethiope East politics and beyond that led to the emergence of the SMART Governor, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and the Executive Chairman, Ethiope East Local Govt council, Chief Hon Mrs Faith Majemite, he was appointed Supervisory councillor for Health in 2014.
He contested and won the Councillorship seat of Ward 8, Ethiope East Local Govt Council in 2018 with overwhelming support.
With the pedigree and credibility bestowed on him within a short time as Super for Health, he was elected Leader of Ethiope East Legistive Arm in 2018.
As a young man who believes that power comes from God, he was again elected as Chairman, Leaders/Councillors Forum Delta State in 2018.
It is said that we can tell a ripe corn by its mere look.
Having seen the embedded leadership traits in him, he was elected National Chairman, PDP Councillors’ Forum Nationwide in 2018.
In the 2019 general elections, he was the Director-General, Delta State Councillors’ Coalition for Okowa Reelection (DECCOR), which compromised the state 466 councillors in 2019. He was also the holding Candidate of the PDP for Ethiope East Constituency in the 2019 General elections.
