Chief James Augoye, a frontline governorship aspirant in Delta State has been honoured with a Distinguished Service Award.

Augoye, who is the immediate past Commissioner for Works in the state and a committed stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was honoured with the award by the Jeddo Stakeholders Forum (JSF) at its 2021 Gala and Award Day, held on Saturday, January 8, 2022.

JSF extolled the charismatic qualities of Augoye, who has a reputable public service record in politics.

The forum particularly extolled Augoye’s humility, rich professional work experience and meritorious contributions to the success of the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

In his address, President of JSF, Engr. James Umukoro said the Gala and Award was put together to recognize the forum’s action founding members, who for over one decade have actively participated in enhancing the peace and development of Jeddo Community.

Umukoro further said that against the criteria outlined for the award, 16 persons were thoughtfully selected as award recipients, including Jeddo citizens, citizens of sister Okpe communities and non-indigenes living in Jeddo community.

Responding, Augoye, represented by his wife, Mary Augoye before he later joined the occasion, thanked the executives and members of JSF for finding him worthy to be honoured with the award.

The governorship hopeful noted that the Distinguished Service Award would spur him to do more in the service to the community, the state and the country at large.

“On behalf of myself and my family, I want to thank the Jeddo Stakeholders Forum (JSF) for this honour bestowed on me. My family and I are grateful for this honour.

“I consider this award as an encouragement to do even more in the service to our community, our state and service to our country at large,” said Augoye.
