The Delta Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced the immediate cancellation of a free capacity building workshop by the Christian Education and Ministration Services (CEM) scheduled to hold on Wednesday and Thursday, October 13 and 14 in Delta Central and South Senatorial Districts.

The two-day free seminar is anchored on leadership and proper conduct of students and teachers in public and private secondary schools in the state.

In a statement, the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu appreciated the organisers of the seminar for their initiative and for building the knowledge of students and teachers in leadership and proper conduct.

Mrs Ezewu, however, said that the cancellation of the seminar was necessitated by the unwholesome attitude of the resource person who leveraged the free seminar to embark on the selling of his books to teachers and students without approval from the ministry.

While frowning at the decision to use the avenue to sell the books to the teachers during the seminar held in Asaba for Delta North Senatorial District, Mrs Ezewu noted that such an act negated the good intentions of the seminar.
