Delta Council scribe escapes kidnap

Samuel Meyiwa Khalil, the Secretary to Warri North Local Government in Delta State has escaped being kidnapped by suspected Fulani Herdsmen.

The incident took place Tuesday night at the popular Aziza junction on the Effurun/Sapele Expressway in the state.

The Council scribe fondly called SMK on his Facebook page ‘Khalil Samuel’ after the attack at past 9pm wrote: “Only about 30Mins ago, I escaped from the hands of Fulani Herdsmen by Aziza junction along Warri Sapele Road, who attempted to Kidnap me. How I escaped from the armed militia is Still a mystery to me…

“Aside a few body injury and destruction of my car, I have come to Return All glory to God….

“God is too faithful to fail me……”

The unsuccessful abduction of Samuel Meyiwa Khalil comes barely three weeks after the Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government in state, Chief Frank Esiwo Ozue, regained freedom from his abductors.

Ozue, who was abducted along the Iwhre-Ovie/Oviri-Ogor Road in Ogor Town off the Ughelli/Evwreni section of the East-West Road, had in a post on his Facebook page after his release alleged that daredevil extremists, Hausas turned Boko haram kidnapped him.

NewsNet Nigeria gathered that Ozue’s family reportedly paid N7 million (seven million Naira) before he was freed.
