The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District have adopted President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as sole presidential and governorship candidates of the party in 2027 general elections.

The adoption was part of the outcomes of the APC Delta Central Peace Meeting, which was held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Wetland Hotel in Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Arhel

It was a convergence of the political gladiators cutting across the entire Urhobo nation coming together to further consolidate the gains of the recent merger of the APC and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.

The motion for the adoption of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, moved by the incumbent member representing Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Francis Waive and seconded by Hon. Halims Agoda, was unanimously adopted when it was put into a voice vote by Senator Ede Dafinone representing Delta Central Senatorial District.

Speaking at the gathering, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, said the meeting aims to unify both the old and new leaders of APC in Delta Central Senatorial District noting that the unity will trickle down to the local government areas, wards and unit levels.

Olorogun Keyamo acknowledged that the meeting was very strategic as it was the first time Urhobo political leaders and elders were coming together under one political party to speak with one voice.

He hailed President Tinubu’s well-calculated and strategic economic policies, which have already started yielding positive results in the resuscitation of the nation’s economy.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development also lauded Governor Oborevwori for his unprecedented development strides across the state describing him as God’s gift to Delta State.

Founding leader of APC in Delta State Olorogun Otega Emeror, Senator Ighoyota Amori, Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Hon Stella Okotete and others noted that the benefits derivable from the meeting will further strengthen the bond of unity among leaders of the party, which would translate into seamless re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori in 2027.

A roll call of other top leaders of APC Delta Central includes the Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo; Chief John Obukohwo Nani; Chairman Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Deacon Joseph Otirue; Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government; Olorogun Jaro Egbo; Delta State Director of Protocol, Olorogun Sunday Onoriode, Chief John Oguma, Chief Morrison Olori, Prof. Iboje, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, Hon. Evelyn Omavowan Oboro, Hon. Festus Agas. Olorogun Onojeharho John, Hon. Samuel Mariere, Chief Major Egone Patrick, Chief SGO Kohwo, Prince Sam Kohwo, Sir Godwin Ohwoekevwo, Chief Joseph Okoro, Hon. Harvest Igben, Chief Okotie Osiobe.
