Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District, has extended warm congratulations to elder statesman, Chief D.T.E. Salubi, as he marks his 90th birthday, describing him as a towering patriot and custodian of Urhobo history.
In a goodwill message issued on March 3, 2026, Senator Dafinone said Chief Salubi’s life reflects unwavering dedication to justice, equity and the advancement of the Urhobo nation.
“Today, we celebrate not just the longevity of a remarkable life, but the enduring legacy of an uncommon patriot whose name is etched boldly in the story of the Urhobo nation,” the senator stated.
He described the nonagenarian as an uncompromising Urhobo patriot, steadfast community leader and progressive politician whose convictions have remained firm through decades of political and social change.
According to Dafinone, Chief Salubi has consistently served as a moral compass and rallying voice for fairness and collective progress in Delta State and beyond.
“His courage, clarity of purpose and principled engagement in public life continue to inspire generations of leaders,” he added.
The senator further noted that Chief Salubi is widely regarded as a living encyclopedia of Urhobo history, embodying the wisdom and cultural consciousness of the people.
He said the elder statesman’s deep knowledge of Urhobo ancestry, struggles and triumphs has strengthened unity and reinforced the pursuit of development and self-determination.
As Chief Salubi joins the league of nonagenarians, Dafinone prayed for continued strength, sound health and peace for the celebrant, expressing hope that he would witness the lasting impact of his lifelong contributions to the Urhobo nation.
