Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has congratulated the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Orhue I, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), CFR, mni, on the occasion of the monarch’s 20th coronation anniversary.
In a congratulatory message to commemorate the milestone, Dafinone described the anniversary as a celebration of two decades of purposeful, visionary and impactful traditional leadership that has strengthened peace, unity and development in Okpe Kingdom.
The senator stated that the royal father’s reign has become a symbol of stability and progress, noting that the kingdom has achieved significant economic and political advancements while preserving its rich cultural heritage under the monarch’s leadership.
“On behalf of the Dafinone family, the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District, and the entire Urhobo Nation, I warmly congratulate His Royal Majesty, Orhue I, Major General Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd), CFR, mni, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, on the joyous occasion of the 20th anniversary of his coronation and ascension to the revered throne of his forefathers,” Dafinone stated.
He described the occasion as “a remarkable milestone” and “a testament to God’s faithfulness and Your Majesty’s unwavering commitment to the unity, progress and prosperity of the Okpe Kingdom.”
Reflecting on the monarch’s two decades on the throne, the lawmaker commended the royal father for fostering harmony among his subjects and positioning the kingdom for greater relevance.
“Under your wise, peaceful and exemplary reign, Okpe Kingdom has witnessed remarkable economic and political advancement, strengthened traditional institutions, enhanced its influence in national affairs, and enjoyed uncommon peace, harmony and stability,” he said.
According to Dafinone, the monarch’s fatherly leadership has continued to attract meaningful development while elevating the prestige of Okpe Kingdom beyond its borders.
As the Orodje marks the historic anniversary, the senator joined sons and daughters of Okpe Kingdom, the Urhobo Nation and other well-wishers in thanking God for preserving the monarch throughout his reign.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the royal father, saying, “We pray that the Almighty grants you continued good health, divine wisdom, strength, and many more fruitful years on the throne as you continue to lead our people with justice, compassion and uncommon dignity.”
Dafinone further expressed hope that the monarch’s reign would continue to serve as “a beacon of peace, cultural pride and sustainable development for generations yet unborn.”
The senator concluded his message with the traditional Okpe salutation, “Umogun! Umogun!! Umogun!!! WU NE SU TOR, WU NA RE TOR,” while congratulating the Orodje on his memorable 20th coronation anniversary.
