Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, on Monday, October 28, 2025, joined dignitaries and top security officials at the official decoration ceremony of AIG Mohammed Dankwara, who was elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG).

The event, which held amid pomp and applause, underscored the ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force.

In his congratulatory message, Senator Dafinone hailed DIG Dankwara for his outstanding professionalism, discipline, and steadfast dedication to duty, describing the promotion as a well-deserved recognition of his long and distinguished service to national security.

He further commended the Police Service Commission for upholding merit and excellence in its promotion process.

“Congratulations to DIG Mohammed Dankwara on this well-earned promotion, which reflects not only his personal achievements but also the values of integrity and dedication that define our Police Force,” Senator Dafinone stated.

He added that Dankwara’s elevation was a testament to years of consistent service and exemplary leadership within the Force.

The senator, fondly referred to by his constituents as “Super Senator,” expressed confidence that DIG Dankwara would continue to display exceptional leadership and uphold the highest standards of policing in his new role.
