Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has congratulated former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Stephen Orishe Oru, on his 79th birthday, describing him as an accomplished public servant and elder statesman whose contributions have impacted Delta State and Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message on the occasion of Oru’s birth anniversary, Dafinone, on behalf of his family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, praised the former minister’s years of service and dedication to public administration, education and national development.
“At 79, Dr Oru stands as an accomplished public servant, respected politician, elder statesman and a man whose years of service have contributed significantly to the development of Delta State and Nigeria,” Dafinone said.
He specifically acknowledged Oru’s service as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Chairman of the Governing Council of Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, describing the appointments as reflections of his commitment to education and human capital development.
Dafinone also commended Oru’s tenure as Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, where he served under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan from 2014 to 2015.
According to him, Oru brought his wealth of experience and knowledge to the development of the Niger Delta region and the country during his time in office.
The Senator noted that the former minister’s contributions to public service remained worthy of recognition, particularly at a time when the importance of experienced leadership and investment in human capital development continues to attract national attention.
Dafinone wished the celebrant greater joy, good health and continued blessings in the years ahead.
