An eighty-year-old man, Moses Inyan has allegedly raped a ten-year-old girl(name withheld) in Ajamimogho Community, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 12, DAILY POST can report.

It was learnt that the teenage girl was sent on an errand by her mother at about 5pm.

The teenage girl suddenly went missing leading to the parents and other residents of the area searching for her till about 10pm to no avail.

The parents of the victim and other residents asked the suspect, Mr….. who is notorious for raping children in the area if he saw the little girl but, he denied saying she was not in his house.

Not satisfied with the postures of the man who was a neighbour, the victim’s parents and neighbours reported the matter to the Ajamimogha Community Task Force.

Men of the community task force who responded promptly broke into and searched the house of the suspect, only to discover that he locked the girl inside a small cupboard after he had carnal knowledge of her forcefully.

The girl it was gathered had almost died when she was brought out of the cupboard and was rushed for medical treatment that night.

The Ajamimogha Community Taskforce thereafter arrested the suspect and locked him up in their ‘cell’.

As at the time of filing this report, the matter was about to be treated at the Ajamimogha Community town hall though the suspect was yet to arrive.

The father of the victim simply identified as Friday is insisting that justice must be served with the suspect handed over to the police for prosecution.
