Residents of Ufuoma Street, Ovwian in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State are now unable to have peaceful sleep.

In recent times, residents of the street are now unable to have peaceful sleep following fear of losing their valuables before dawn.

Going to sleep is now like days to them as currently being experienced by trapped residents in some cities of Ukraine occasioned by the Russian invasion.

The latest crime wave in the once peaceful street is the stealing of parked vehicles perhaps by a professional crime syndicate backed by locals.

A resident of Ufuoma Street who craved anonymity told NewsNet Nigeria that a Toyota Corolla car was on Monday, March 14, 2022, stolen from where it was parked inside a compound between 3 to 4am.

Residents of Ufuoma Street, Ovwian in Udu Local Government Area according to the source woke up in the morning to discover that the Toyota Corolla parked in the owner’s compound behind Ekete Primary School has disappeared.

Those who stole the car it was gathered opened the compound gate and rolled the car out without the residents knowing suggesting whether they may have been made to go into deep sleep magically.

Another parked Toyota Corolla last Wednesday, March 7, 2022, investigation revealed also was stolen in the street before the residents woke up.

A white Toyota Hilux last week also disappeared from where it was parked in the street with shops and homes broken into leading to massive theft of residents’ personal properties in recent time.

Same last week, a gang of armed robbers were said to have broken into a provision shop through the ceiling while the residents were asleep, removed a deep freezer and other items; load them into a bus and speed off.

Residents of the street have therefore appealed to the police in Ovwian Division and vigilante groups to beef up security in Ufuoma Street, Ovwian in Udu Local Government Area, with a view to fishing out the culprits.
