Courts to resume Monday as JUSUN suspends strike

Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has suspended its strike after over two months.

The strike suspension however takes effect from Monday.

The Union took the resolution at its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held Thursday in Abuja.

The National Judicial Council (NJC) had, at a meeting with JUSUN leaders on Tuesday, with the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammad in attendance, urged the striking court workers to put an end to the industrial action in the interest of the country and the suffering court users.

The union had embarked on the strike on April 6, shutting down all courts nationwide, to demand financial autonomy for the judiciary in states.
