Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Saturday joined the families of Hon Oboro Preyor and Sir Godwin Ohwoekevwo to celebrate the solemnization of the Holy Matrimony between their children, Barr. Tarelayefa Preyor and Dr George Ohwoekevwo, now Dr and Barr (Mrs) George Ohwoekevwo.

The wedding ceremony, which took place at the Living Faith Church, Winners Chapel, Ibusa Road Asaba, was witnessed by dignitaries across all strata of the society, including the business and political class.

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori was flanked by his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori; the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme and wife, Dame Catherine Onyeme; Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor; Principal Officers and Members of the State Legislature and their spouses; Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata; Senator James Manager; other top government functionaries; relatives; friends and well-wishers of both families.

Interestingly, while the bride, Tarelayefa is the first daughter of Hon Oboro Preyor, immediate past Deputy Majority Leader and Member representing Bomadi State Constituency in the Delta Assembly, the groom, Dr George Ohwoekevwo, is the Speaker of the Delta State Youth Parliament, which explains why almost all the 29 Parliamentarians, representing the various constituencies in the Youth Assembly were also present at the event.

In his message at the Service, the Resident Pastor of the Living Faith Church, Winner’s Chapel, Ibusa Road Asaba, Pastor Chris Nwaka, enjoined couples to make communication a vital part of their union.

Pastor Nwaka whose Sermon was entitled “Communication in Marriage” said Marriage is an institution ordained by God adding that for any marriage to succeed,  Intimacy is key in the union.

He maintained that any marriage without effective communication was bound to hit the rocks; and advised Dr and Mrs George Ohwoekevwo to do all within their powers to see that their Marriage remains strong and prosperous.

The Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor; Deputy Speaker, Arthur Akpowhowho; Majority Leader, Emeka Nwaobi and two other Lawmakers, Emmanuel Sinebe, Patani and Festus Utuama, Ughelli South, congratulated the couple and their families for the milestone achieved and prayed God to dwell in the union.

They charged the newlyweds to ensure they stay close to each other and shun any act that could disrupt their communication.

The Parents of the bride, Hon Oboro Preyor and Mrs Campaign Preyor, their son, Mr Ebizimor Preyor and the father of the groom, Sir Godwin Ohwoekevwo, said they had never fallen short of the grace of God and prayed for more of God’s blessings in the families.

Hon Preyor who became emotional as he was being interviewed, said the daughter takes care of many responsibilities on his behalf, stressing that he will miss her greatly.

The wife, campaign and son Ebizimor, spoke in the same vein about the bride, extolling her good qualities, and thanked God she found her heartthrob as a life partner, even as the groom’s father looked unto God for all that would make the marriage blissful.

The newlyweds, Dr and Barr (Mrs) George Ohwoekevwo,  expressed their gratitude to God for their union as husband and wife and promised to hold on to Him for directions.

They said the love that brought them together is evergreen and shall continue to glow as God is actively involved.

The event’s highlight was the exchange of marital vows and rings by the couple to the admiration of the guests.

A reception was later held in their honour at the Crescendo Event Center, off Mariam Babangida Road, Asaba and was also attended by creme- de la- creme of the society.

That part of the event featured the cutting of the wedding cake, the couple’s dance, comedy and musical entertainment as well as the presentation of gifts.
