Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Monday held a thanksgiving service for the successful inauguration of his administration and 60th birthday celebration.
The service which took place at the Living Faith Church on Ibusa Road, Asaba, was attended by cream-dela-cream of the society from wide and near, including state Governors, members of the National and State Houses of Assembly, captains of industries, traditional rulers and other political office holders.
The only bible reading from the Holy Book of Psalms was read by the celebrant and Governor Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
The Pastor, Living Faith Church in charge of Delta State, Pastor Triumphant Obamoh, in a sermon, said ingratitude cuts one off from the source of grace, strength and greatness and commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for showing gratitude to God with thanksgiving.
Stressing that gratitude injects more blessings to the many goodness of God, Pastor Obamoh, reminded Christians that thanksgiving without worship is fake and cannot yield the desire results.
He admonished Governor Oborevwori not to exercise any fear as what God started in his life will be perfected, saying that God that has kept him for the past sixty years will do even more for him in the next sixty years.
Pastor Obamoh urged the Governor to allow God dwell in his life and the life of his administration, and prayed God to multiply His grace upon the life of the Governor as more of such grace were needed to disgrace those against him, emphasizing that the will of God cannot be cut shot.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in his remarks, said when he looks back into his life journey, God has always been there for him, hence he came to thank Him for multiple blessings.
Saying that it wouldn’t have been so good without God, Oborevwori disclosed that he has a personal covenant with God, which is to always come to him in thanksgiving.
He noted that his desire to serve the people of Delta State has always been his dream, hence he sought election into the State Assembly, but God promoted him to become the Speaker and now Governor of Delta State.
Oborevwori expressed deep appreciation to those that made positive impact in his life and asked God to bless them with His goodness.
Governors of Edo and Bayelsa States represented by their deputies, Governors of Oyo and Adamawa States also represented, Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme and wife, the Speaker of the Delta State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, former Governors Ifeanyi Okowa and Emmanuel Uduaghan and their wives were among dignitaries at the thanksgiving service.
The high point of the service were special thanks offering by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, flanked by wife, Tobore and family and others as well as presentation of gifts.
