Mrs Marian Nweke, a member of the Delta State Government House Press Crew who sustained injury in the accident involving the crew’s bus just close to Asaba has given thanks to God for sparing her life.
Mrs Nweke, an Assistant General Manager (AGM) in News & Current Affairs Department of Delta Broadcasting Serving, Warri, and other journalists that made up the press crew of the ex-Governor Ifeanyi Okowa were on Thursday, May 18, 2023, involved in the accident, when the Hiace bus they were travelling in suddenly had two burst tyres and somersaulted multiple times.
She was not too lucky among the crew members as she had a broken left leg and was immediately admitted at the Asaba Specialist Hospital, Asaba.
In appreciation to God, Marian, accompanied by her husband, Mr Stephen Nweke, family members, colleagues in the Pen profession, friends and invited on Sunday gave thanks to God at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Rev. Fr. Malachy Okonkwo, in his Homily during the Mass said it was the miraculous work of God that no crew member of the Press bus died.
The Catholic Priest who said he has survived three fatal accidents appreciated the Nweke’s family for recognising the power of God in the life of their daughter.
At a reception held their residence in Okpanam after the church service, Mrs Marian Nweke expressed her profound thanks to God for giving her a chance to fulfill her destiny on earth.
She thanked all who stood by her in their prayers and best wishes while in the hospital and recuperating.
