Ahead of the conduct of the local government elections in 2024 by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), a one-time Publicity Secretary of the Youth Wing of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Comrade Andrew Agagbo has joined the chairmanship race for Uvwie Local Government Council.

Agagbo, a procurement analyst and logistics specialist with an extensive administrative background is a native of Ekpan community in Uvwie Local Government Area, where has also served as a Youth Leader in the community leadership.

In an exclusive interview with NewsNet Nigeria, a holder of Bachelor of Arts, B.A (Hons) in History and International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin, Edo State, said he is primed for leadership and the number one seat in Uvwie Local Government Council would part be of his progression in life if given the mandate by the people to lead them in that position.

As a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ward 9 Ekpan community, Comrade Andrew Agagbo expressed optimism to emerge as the chairmanship flagbearer of the party, based on his proven track record of competence, capacity, honesty and grassroots mobilisation.

The frontline chairmanship aspirant hinted that if elected as chairman of Uvwie Council he would rely on a 3-point Agenda of human capital Development, Security, and Sanitation to take Uvwie to its pride of place.

He praised Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for his diligent pursuit of his administration’s MORE Agenda, pledging to consolidate it in Uvwie Local Government Area as chairman of the Council.

As a young vibrant, articulate politician and a member of the Rotary Club of Warri, he pledged not to relent in his philanthropy and other humanitarian endeavours which have continued to endear him to the people.

He promised to regularly carry out advocacy on the need for the Uvwie youths to maintain peace and engage them in the acquisition of relevant skills and vocations to enable become not only self-reliant but responsible citizens who in turn bring honour to their communities.

He also paid glowing tribute to the incumbent chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon Ramson Onoyake for achieving and sustaining peace in the area promising to build on it if he eventually succeeds him.

Comrade Andrew Agagbo attended the defunct Delta Steel Model Primary School, Steel Town in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, where he obtained his Primary Leaving Certificate and later proceeded to the Christ the King College, Orhuwhorun, also in Udu Local Government Area.

He bagged B.A (Hons) History and International Studies and Diplomacy, University of Benin; Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, College of Supply Chain Management, Ikeja, Lagos and Master’s Degree MSc in Supply Chain Management, Sainte Felicite University, Republic of Benin.

Comrade Andrew Agagbo is the founder and chairman of Andre Ferdinand Global Services Ltd, a member of Chartered Supply Chain Management Professional and a member of the Chartered Institute of Warehousing and Materials Management.

He is recognised for designing and implementing process control and quality improvement initiatives which reduce cost and increase revenue, track records of identifying redundancies and maximising resources to streamline operations.

Andrew Agagbo is a devoted Christian, married and blessed with three children.
