2023: Karo Goru declares for Udu Constituency seat in Delta State House of Assembly

Immediate past leader of the Udu Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon Karo Goru has declared his intention to contest for the Udu Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly in the 2023 general elections under the banner of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Accompanied by his teeming supporters, Hon. Goru made his desire known during a consultation visit to the Udu Local Government Area Executive of the PDP in Ubogo community.

Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a number of persons are emerging as contenders on the platform of the ruling PDP in the state, to become the next flagbearer of the party for the Udu Constituency seat in the State Legislature.

A name that rings a bell among the aspirants is the immediate past leader of the Udu Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Karo Goru.

For this reason, Hon. Goru is in Ubogo community to appeal to the leadership of the PDP in Udu Council for their support and blessings in his quest to emerge as the PDP flag bearer in the 2023 Delta State House of Assembly election.

Hon. Goru, who was visibly overwhelmed by the reception accorded him by the PDP executives, said if, given the nod, he intends to go to the hallowed chamber to represent the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Udu.

The former leader of Udu Legislative Arm described himself as a servant of the people and appealed for support from the party delegates in the upcoming PDP primaries.

He promised to bring about improved infrastructure, laws, Human Capital Development, security and other development initiatives.

Responding, the Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Udu Local Government Area, Hon. David Siloko, flanked by the Secretary, Chief Harrison Veta and a State Officer of the party, Mrs Vivian Ogheneovo, commended Hon. Karo Goru for his steadfastness in his pursuit of service to Udu.

Hon. Siloko also thanked him for keeping to his word as regards the visit, unlike some politicians who have cultivated the habit of rescheduling appointments.

While assuring Hon. Goru of his chances, the Udu PDP chairman noted that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has stated authoritatively that the People’s Democratic Party in the state will conduct free, fair, and credible primaries.

He, therefore, advised Hon. Goru to consult personally and seek the support of delegates in the local government area as gone are the days when a local government or ward party chairman directs the voting pattern in the primaries.

Prayers were offered for the success of Hon. Karo Goru as he continues his consultations round Udu Local Government Area.

Hon. Karo Goru was accompanied by his parents, engineer and Dr (Mrs) James Goru, the President General, Ekete Community, Evangelist Emmanuel Kpomalefe, amongst other prominent party faithful.
