The remains of late Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli have been laid to rest amidst tributes from family members, friends and well-wishers.

Until her death, Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli was wife of a prominent Itsekiri chief, the Oritsegbogwa of Warri Kingdom, Elder Walter Odeli, alias Oritse-e-tsolatse.

Activities marking the final journey of late Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli, to the great beyond commenced on Friday, August 13, 2021, with Service of Songs held in her honour at their residence, No 1 Walter Odeli Crescent, Warri.

The Service of Songs was filled with an outpouring of goodwill messages and tributes from eminent dignitaries in attendance, who described her as a virtuous woman and one whose exemplary lifestyle will continue to positively influence those that came close to her while alive.

On Saturday, August 14, 2021, an open-air church service immediately followed by interment were held also at their residence, No 1 Walter Odeli Crescent, Warri.

Surviving family members of late Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli led by her husband, Elder Walter Odeli, children, relatives, friends and well-wishers converged to pay their last respect to the deceased who was their beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and a friend.

The officiating minister for the funeral service from the Cathedral of Kings and Priest Church, Rev. Jonathan Akpata, called on all present to leave a life that pleases God in order to make heaven.

Rev. Akpata harped on the need for Christians to focus on Jesus Christ rather than the things of the world.

The clergyman who took his Bible text from First Thessalonians 4:13 admonished the children of Late Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli not to weep but be consoled by the fact that their mother lived her life for God and humanity.

He noted that late Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli has played her part and it is now left for those who are still alive to mend their ways so as to make heaven.

Prayers were offered at the graveside of Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli before the white casket containing her remains was lowered to Mother Earth.

For her husband, Chief Walter Odeli, she has only gone to be with the Lord after 55years of marriage.

Some of her children including her first son, Mr Toritseju Odeli and her first child and daughter, Mrs Alero Joy Odeli-Nwaeze, described her as a milkwoman of integrity, who paid attention to the welfare and upbringing of her children and the family.

On Sunday, August 15, 2021, the burial arrangements for late Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli were climaxed with an outing service which was also held at their residence, No 1 Walter Odeli Crescent, Warri, with Rev. Jonathan Akpata of the Cathedral of Kings and Priests Church, stressing on the need for all to genuinely seek for repentance and give their lives to Jesus Christ.

The late Mrs Helen Oduore-Odeli died at the age of 76.
