Warri Urhobo APC Endorses Tinubu, Oborevwori, Seeks Equity in Delta South

Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Warri Urhobo on Friday met in Warri, Delta State, and declared their support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, citing what they described as positive performance at the federal and state levels.

The meeting, held at the Warri residence of the Chairman of the Warri Urhobo APC Leadership Council, Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, was expanded and well attended, drawing party leaders and members from Urhobo wards in Warri South Local Government Area. Six of the 12 wards in the council area were represented.

After extensive deliberations, the gathering passed a vote of confidence on President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, commending their leadership and governance efforts.

The party leaders also called on governments at all levels to ensure fairness in the distribution of infrastructure and other dividends of democracy across Delta South Senatorial District.

They stressed that the district comprises four indigenous ethnic nationalities, Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri and Urhobo, and urged authorities to ensure equitable development among all constituent groups.

The meeting further resolved to strengthen unity among Warri Urhobo APC members and to collectively defend Urhobo interests within the Warri area at all times.

On the Supreme Court-ordered ward delineation exercise in the Warri Federal Constituency, the meeting urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conclude the exercise without further delay, in full compliance with the apex court’s directive.

The leaders commended Senators Joel-Onowakpo Thomas and Ede Dafinone for their stance at the National Assembly, where they called on INEC to complete the ward delineation exercise as ordered by the Supreme Court.

They also agreed that any individuals or groups dissatisfied after the exercise concludes should seek redress through the courts.

Addressing voter mobilisation, the meeting recalled the inauguration of a 14-member committee in August 2025 to drive the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise across Urhobo wards in Warri.

Members praised the committee’s progress so far and urged it to intensify efforts ahead of the second phase of the CVR scheduled to begin in January 2026, to ensure that all eligible voters are registered ahead of future elections.

Attendance at the meeting reflected a broad cross-section of leaders and stakeholders of the Warri Urhobo chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), underscoring the significance of the gathering.
