The Urhobo Federated Council (UFC) has congratulated its Patron and elder statesman, Olorogun Joe Omene, the Ejorhofo of Mosogar Kingdom, on his emergence as the first National President of the Traditional Chiefs of Urhobo Land Association.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, the Council described Omene’s elevation as a monumental milestone and a testament to his indefatigable commitment, exemplary leadership, and unrelenting service to the Urhobo nation.
According to the statement, the newly established association is expected to serve as a unifying platform for all Urhobo traditional chiefs and a preeminent voice for cultural preservation and traditional cohesion, complementing the efforts of the Ukoko r’Ivie (Urhobo Council of Kings).
The UFC noted that Olorogun Omene’s previous tenure as President General of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) stands as an invaluable foundation for his success in this new capacity, describing him as a “custodian of the collective wisdom and aspirations of Urhobo traditional institutions.”
“The Urhobo Federated Council pledges its unwavering allegiance and support to the National President and the newly constituted Association,” the statement read in part.
The Council further praised Olorogun Omene for bringing renewed honour to Urhobo land, noting that his leadership continues to inspire confidence and unity among Urhobo sons and daughters across the globe.
