The proverbial saying that ‘charity begins at home’ was fully manifested on Sunday, March 10, 2024, when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in Evwreni Ward of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State overwhelmingly declared support for the aspiration of Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe to become the next chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council.

Recall that recently the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori held a valedictory Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting with the 25 outgone local government chairmen in the state and during a meeting of stakeholders of PDP in the state at the Unity Hall, Government House Asaba, said with the expiration of the tenure of Local Government Council Chairmen on March 8, elections into the Local Government Councils would hold soon.

Gearing up for the chairmanship contest, Rtn. Adjogbe on Sunday reassured PDP leaders and supporters in Evwreni Ward 8 of his preparedness to occupy the chairmanship seat of Ughelli North Local Government Council.

It was a moment of jubilation once again in Evwreni ward as members of the PDP family in their numbers threw their weight behind Rtn. Adjogbe

In the well-attended meeting by key PDP stakeholders of the ward, it was encomium upon encomium as each leader prayed and expressed hope that Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe becomes the next local government council chairman.

Mrs. Edike Yoma, former PDP Evwreni ward woman leader in her commendation, said Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe is one person she has seen to possess the true qualities of a leader. She has worked with so many leaders in the past but none to compare to Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe, according to her.

Mr Moneyard Edjere, a former youth leader of PDP Evwreni ward also in his remarks, said he came to appreciate the PDP as a party the more because of the enormous benefits brought by Rtn Fidelis Adjogbe, unlike in the past when people worked and risk their lives without dividends.

He noted that giving Fidelis Adjogbe the mandate is the best decision for a better Ughelli North.

Mr Johnson Abrucha, a pioneer PDP stalwart in Evwreni ward, said Fidelis Adjogbe is tested and trusted.

Pastor John Aki, in the same tune, acknowledged the hard work of Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe for ensuring that the party PDP emerged victorious in the ward during the 2023 general elections, adding that Adjogbe will drive the M.O.R.E agenda in Ughelli North

Mr. Esike Mike said Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe is a trustworthy politician who will take Ughelli North to the next level if given the mandate to do so.

For his part, Comrade Emmanuel Tobi acknowledged that Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe has all the qualities of a good leader, and it will be of great advantage to the local government if he is given the chance to serve as the council’s chairman.

Mrs. Charity Akpomrire,  a notable women mobilizer in the ward, said, Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe will care about all mostly women, as he has demonstrated in the past.

Comrade Friday Diamond, a foremost community youth leader, said Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe is a shining political light for the youths in Ughelli North, and supporting him to become Ughelli North Local Government Chairman will transform Ughelli North.

Mr Desmond Okpako, a former councillor from  Evwreni ward and majority leader, noted that Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe is the way to go for the M.O.R.E agenda to be replicated in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Others who spoke and passed votes of confidence on Rtn. Fidelis Adjogbe includes Mr Joseph Obuko, Mrs Mercy Dominic, Mr Elvis Udjuame, Mr Gideon  English, Ms Otega Edike, Mr Eguono Utuedor, Mr Alex Ephron, Prince Famous Amrophe and Mr Christian Onovughe.
