Delta State Government says motorcycle and tricycle operators across the state must be registered and captured in the ongoing biometric registration exercise which commenced in May 2021.
A statement by the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Mr Patrick Ukah added defaulters of the exercise will risk being banned from plying roads within Delta State from 31st January 2022.
The statement also added that the Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, has directed that operational hours for motorcycle and tricycle riders in the state should henceforth be restricted to the period of 6am and 9pm.
It warned that only registered operators on essential and emergency duties with proof of valid means of identification would be exempted outside the stipulated period.
The statement explained that anyone found violating the directive would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
