The people of Okpare Olomu community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State have passed a vote of confidence in Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for its effective surveillance and protection of oil pipelines across the Niger Delta region.
At a well-attended community meeting held on Monday, residents of Okpare Olomu expressed gratitude to Tantita for its operational excellence, noting that the firm’s activities have drastically reduced pipeline vandalism and illegal bunkering in the area.
Speaking at the event, the President-General of Okpare Olomu community, Comrade Okiemute Otoka, described Tantita Security Services Limited as a “huge asset to the Federal Government and the Niger Delta region.”
He stated that under Tantita’s watch, crude oil theft has been curbed, environmental degradation minimised, and oil production significantly improved.
“Tantita has brought great relief to our people. The menace of illegal bunkering and vandalism has stopped, and many of our youths are now gainfully employed and empowered through its operations,” Comrade Otoka said.
The community leader appealed to President Bola Tinubu to renew the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita, stressing that its continuation would further benefit the nation’s economy and strengthen security in oil-producing areas.
Other community members, including Mr Jamani, echoed the call for the renewal of the contract, commending the company’s Chairman, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), and the management team for their commitment to peace, security, and community development.
In the same meeting, the people of Okpare Olomu also inaugurated a seven-man electoral committee headed by Chief James Onovughe to oversee the election of a new Youth President for the community.
The election, zoned to Ogbe Quarters, is scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 25, 2025, followed by the inauguration of the winner.
The community expressed optimism that the upcoming youth leadership election would further strengthen unity and development efforts in Okpare Olomu.
